Teresa (and Elliott),

Sounds like your wedding and honeymoon were just wonderful. I'm so sorry we couldn't be there.

We have dual flush toilets in Paris, and when my brother came, he made a lot of jokes like, "Uh oh, I think I'm going to need the big button to flush this time!"

I felt like a jerk when I dunked the bag in the water; I desecrated the lake by repeatedly screaming an expletive. The camera is OK though and the dot didn't get any larger.

Teresa,
You really are hysterical! First, let's think about all you wrote about the word try and removing it from your vocabulary...good idea, good points. Then you wrote about the justs, just kidding, just saying, just mentioning, just pointing out, just remembering, just reminding. Hmmm....I think I'm guilty of that, well, I was until about two months ago. The problem here is that after summing up the justs, you said you and Elliott were TRYing to stop...Does that mean you really are going to stop it, or you're just indicating effort? Gotcha on that one! Sorry you're not feeling great on this gorgeous Memorial Day, but I appreciate your tip on the eye twitch. I recently had that; and, if you had nothing else to do, you could actually watch it twitch in the mirror. It was my left eye, too, so I'm glad to hear about the Chinese luck. Stay away from dark beers for awhile, and life will seem better.
Can't wait for the wedding!
Love, Mom.

Hi Teresa!

I don't think that's a bad attitude. Just you wait for the "How's married life?" We got that question over and over again, and I just had to say, "Pretty much the same as before." (Oh look, we still live together...) It is different in that you've made the commitment publicly, but you're only confirming to the world what you already know about how much you two love each other. And that doesn't require fireworks or peacocks or symbolic parade floats. And because you don't expect a fairy tale day, you'll get exactly what you want with a warm and joyous celebration of your commitment. It sounds real and it sound worth it, and that's the best you could ask for! At least, that's my two cents!

And if that doesn't work, just think: less than a month until the wedding planning ends! :)

Teresa,
If you were still a child and in my care, you would not own that bicycle and you would not be running on city streets. Life has enough surprises in store without going out looking for an accident. I'm sorry, but I really wonder what you're thinking. Are you low on challenges in your life right now? Work's not enough? Wedding in June not enough? Is there no safe, indoor gym where you could push your body to limits? I'm really worried about your daredevil antics. I think you should be grounded.
Love,
Mom

Hey, Teresa,
Great story! That reminds me of the time several years ago when your dad and I were in San Francisco. That was before smoking was virtually outlawed everywhere, but even then there was no smoking in bars in that city. As we walked along a street, we spotted a bar in which the customers were smoking. Overjoyed, your dad led us inside. He was oblivious to anything except the anticipation that he was going to be able to enjoy his two favorite hobbies at the same time, but something seemed amiss to me. As we walked the length of the bar on one side and small tables opposite, it became apparent that there were no females in that bar, not one, except for me. Since they had not kept me from entering, I'm assuming females were allowed. However, the bar appeared to be a choice of only smoking males. Much to your father's dismay and disappointment, I refused to stay long enough to order drinks. Leave it to the bay area to cater to all diverse groups.
